One individual chooses the winning numbers for the game at random from the pile of call cards or bingo balls for the game and as each number is called, the picked item is placed to the side to be used for verification purposes at the end of the game as well as to prevent the number from being called again.  As each number is called, the players will mark out the corresponding spot on their own bingo cards.

According to bingo rules, the game is over when a player has marked out the numbers on their bingo card in the pattern that was chosen at the beginning of the game.  The caller or other trusted individual will match the numbers marked out on the bingo card to the numbers that have been called and if they match, the individual that played that bingo card is declared the winner of the bingo game.  Although not in the bingo rules, the individual is usually given a prize for winning the bingo game.
